You can download the wallet from its official website or the app store. It holds your private keys on the device to ensure a higher level of security. Moreover, it’s a light wallet which means it doesn’t download the entire blockchain on your device. You can use Exodus on all types of devices across various operating systems including iOS, Android, Linux, Windows, and MacOS. One of the best features of Exodus is that it enables you to pair your mobile and desktop wallets providing you with an increased level of flexibility and control.

Exodus is compatible with TREZOR wallets as well which allows you to enjoy the minimalistic design and easy to use interface of Exodus with the high end security of a cold wallet.

How Does Exodus Work

As mentioned earlier, Exodus offers a very sleek yet functional interface which includes six sections.

Wallet

– This is where you can receive or send particular cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

Portfolio

– This section displays a graphical overview of all the digital currencies you have along with the price graphs.

Exchange

– This wallet comes with a built-in cryptocurrency exchange that allows you trade coins within the wallet

Backup

– This is the section where you can restore your wallet’s seed phrase or wallet’s password.

Settings

– Allows you to tinker with interface and security settings to personalize the wallet according to your preferences.

Help

– An information database where you will find FAQs, videos, and customer support either through email or Slack IM.

To use the wallet, download it from the official website and ensure you have got the authentic download. Once you have downloaded the wallet, install it by following the onscreen instructions. After the installation, all you need to do is click on the wallet section in the top left side of the interface and tap on the digital coin you are looking to add to the wallet. Then click on “receive” to verify the transfer.

Exodus Security

Software wallets are inherently not as secure as their hardware counterparts since they can be accessed when the device is online. However, Exodus has a variety of security features including password as well as a 12-word seed phrase protection. Moreover, the wallet features an automatic lock which enables itself after a selected duration.

You can also verify the authenticity of your Exodus wallet download using the process provided on the official website. This ensures you have an authentic version of the software wallet instead of a counterfeit lookalike which can be used to hack into your wallet as well as the device to get access to the coins. Besides, you don’t have to provide any personal details and the company doesn’t store your private keys as they’re kept on your devices.

The only minor flaw here is that Exodus isn’t completely open source and the code base contains parts which are closed source.

Cryptocurrency Compatibility

Exodus offers full compatibility with more than 100 cryptocurrencies, digital assets and tokens. Some of the top and most popular currencies include Ethereum, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ripple, Binance Coin, Bitcoin Cash, EOS, Tether, Dash and Stellar.

Last Word

Exodus Wallet is a great option for those who are just getting into the cryptocurrency trade. It is reasonably secure, supports all popular cryptocurrencies and tokens, and has the best user interface and experience among all software and even hardware wallets. It also allows you to trade cryptocurrencies without leaving the wallet and has a nice dashboard where you can keep an eye on your digital assets.
